陶芸家 道川省三氏の力強いうねりの造形をした「器」は、轆轤の遠心力から生み出される力を身体に入れ込み、土と対峙し、作品の内部に手で軌道を与え創りだされます。そこに華道家 辻雄貴氏が山々の生命力溢れる植物を生け、新たな空間を生み出します。生き生きとした咲く花だけでなく、枯れた樹々や、突然変異の植物等、器と融和することで生かされる空間をつくります。「道川氏の器は、器自体が花だ。」と辻氏は語ります。どちらが器で、どちらが花か。 “在“とは、土に人の才、創造性が融和し生まれた一文字。土を生かし、土に生ける二人の才が混ざり合うとき、土と植物の境は揺らぎ、新しい造形作品が生まれます。器や花の存在を超え、生まれ変わる新しい空間 “在 -ZAI-“。 創造される二人の意識、そして未来への矛先がここに立ち顕れます。 The powerful, undulating forms of Shozo Michikawa's ceramics are created by incorporating the centrifugal force of the potter's wheel into the body, confronting the clay, and giving it a trajectory with hands to create the work. There, Tsuji arranges plants brimming with the vitality of the mountains, creating a new space. Not only blooming flowers but also withered trees and mutated plants create a space brought to life by harmonizing with the ceramics. "Michikawa's ceramics are flowers themselves," says Tsuji. Which is the vessel, and which is the flower? "Existence" is a character born from the harmony of human talent and creativity with the earth. When the talents of two people who bring the earth to life and arrange plants in the soil blend, the boundary between earth and plants blurs, and a new form of work is born. A new space that transcends the existence of vessels and flowers, "在 - ZAI -." The consciousness of the two creators and their direction toward the future are revealed here.
道川 省三 / 陶芸家 SHOZO MICHIKAWA / Ceramic Artist 1953年、北海道出身。愛知県瀬戸市を本拠地として活動。「ロエベ財団クラフ トプライズ2019」ファイナリスト。「ミュンヘン国際ハンドクラフトフェア2018」金賞。ロンドンのギャラリーを拠点として世界30カ国以上で陶芸の個展やワークショップなども開催している。 Born in 1953 in Hokkaido. Active in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. Finalist of the "Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2019." Gold Prize at the "Munich International Handicrafts Fair 2018." He holds solo exhibitions and workshops in ceramics in over 30 countries around the world, based at a gallery in London.
辻 雄貴 / 華道家 YUKI TSUJI / Ikebana Artist 1983年 静岡県出身。辻雄貴空間研究所 主宰。建築という土台を持ちながら追求する「いけばな」は、既存の枠組みを超えて、建築デザイン、舞台美術、彫刻、プロダクトデザインなどを統合した、独自の空間芸術を創り出す。2016年、ニューヨーク カーネギーホール主催公演にていけばなを披露。カーネギーホール史上初の華道家となる。 Born in 1983 in Shizuoka Prefecture. He is the head of Yuki Tsuji Plants Sculpture Studio Inc. While having a foundation in architecture, his pursuit of "ikebana" goes beyond existing frameworks, creating a unique spatial art that integrates architectural design, stage art, sculpture, and product design. In 2016, he performed ikebana at a Carnegie Hall-sponsored event in New York, becoming the first ikebana artist in the history of Carnegie Hall.
